My friend Christina used to work with me at the high school. We ended up being roommates a few years ago when we went to the AVID conference in Philly. She was working on work for grad school and couldn't go out with the group in the evenings very much since she had a lot of work to do. Having done the same thing a few years before, I could relate. So each evening, when I came back, I would pop my memory card into my laptop and we'd look over the pictures that I had taken that evening.
I was sad when she left, but she seems happy working in the Law Library at Washington and Lee University.
I had the joy of photographing her wedding this weekend. It was my fifth wedding and I was honored that she trusted me with her wonderful day.
We went down the Lexington the night before to photograph the rehearsal dinner and stayed in a hotel downtown which was walking distance from the wedding venue at Lee Chapel.
Shots from the rehearsal dinner
Christina got ready in the Morris House on campus. I was able to take some bridal portraits there in the formal sitting room and stairwell.
The Ceremony was inside the lovely Lee Chapel, There's no center isle in the chapel, and so photographers work up on the balcony. I was disappointed that the perspective there did not allow me to capture the processional up the isle, but it's important to follow the rules of the venue.
And then the reception At McKethan Park
From the wonderful food to the brilliant fireworks display at the end of the night, it was a lovely day.
